wow… Great photography websites having great photography…

I would’ve liked to have seen more websites that weren’t photography portfolios featured for having great photography in their sites.

Great list. Too bad some of them mess with my screen (resize/move, come on!)

I think photography and art is vastly underestimated in the blogosphere especially. Good photos can make a blog come to life and greatly enhance the subject being discussed.

As a designer moving into the photography world I found it difficult to make my website look great, I have ended up taking only landscape aspect pictures. I think that Dirk Lambrecht’s websites shows a great way to show off portrait aspect photography in a stylish way. Thanks for sharing. Ed

All looks a bit wanky to me. I’ve always had a hard time with ‘marketing’ photography, it’s formulaic, bland and soulless.

  8. I opened them on Safari and those photos are just awesome. A cool list of great finds if you ask me. Actually you just inspired me to do something of the same sort.

I will definitely ask you for some feedback soon. Thanks for giving me another interesting nook to look at.

Very nice. Find a nice photo is difficult, find a a nice photo that can blend in the site is even more difficult.

  16. Justin says:

As a photographer, I think this is a great idea for an article. That being said, choosing any photographers portfolio is a cop out. The commercial sites are the ones who are impressive, because they blend photos, copy and marketing in a great way.

I would not necessarily call some of these sites ‘Photography’ websites as most of them are full of tons of manipulated images which don’t even look like photographs anymore.
