We’re back with another list — this time we’re going to take a look at well designed, standards-compliant E-commerce stores. These are tricky sites to get right and design can give way to conversions, which is after all, the reason they are there — to make money.
I have tried to select a balance of E-commerce sites which get the design and usability right. This “best of” list focuses on sites which sell tangible products only…
Djin
Pure Volume Store
Syntax Online Shop
Teetonic
Brand Nuesense
JD Cycles
Shoe Guru
Urban Originals
Zoka
Emptees
Kleine Zebra
Furious Tees
Putuka
Millets
Tokyocube Toys
Crupress
Habitat Shoes
Design Loot
A Better Tommorow
Chocolate Cafe

great list, i’m currently developing a e-commerce website, this will give me the inspiration i need
Keep up the good work !
Ahhhh, at last someone took some time to make a list of very good examples of e-commerce website. Because, yes, there are plenty of “best websites” directory but this selection looks really great and I am sure as a e-commerce website owner, I will learn some good lessons from them.
Good job!
How come http://www.threadless.com got overlooked, for me personally should be in top 3
Its good to see a list of ecommerce websites. While most of these have really great visual designs, usability wise they are all over the place. When it comes to ecommerce you shouldnt have to figure out how to buy something – that’s just gonna make people go elsewhere.
What makes these sites the “best”? Visual design or high conversion rates? Or excellent cart form design? I see interesting ideas here but don’t see any stellar execution in the cart to checkout flows?
Just wondering…
Nice list – thank you. The only thing is that one of the challenges that I am finding with delivering a good e-commerce experience from coding to usability is the lack of great platforms to start with. I’d be very curious if these are custom solutions or if they are employing any open source or commercial cms/e-commerce engines to drive them.
Thank you ! …. I’m currently developping a e-commerce shop and those sites are really greats examples !!! …
This site is VERY simple to use. Minimalist design for sure. Yet its my favorite way to shop for discounts and deals from amazon.com.

Sweet list, these sites are an inspiration.
