Your business card carries the brand of your company and represents yourself, a well designed and printed card can impress and make people take notice and remember you which is what you’re aiming for. A badly designed or printed card can leave a bad impression or even worse be simply forgotten.

I’m currently researching creative business cards as I felt it’s about time I made some up for my company, there are many examples of great business cards and today we will be showcasing 15 of the best, Enjoy …

Simplebits – When I was beginning to research this topic, the first I thought of was Dan Cederholm’s rebrand for Simplebits – great type and logo letter-pressed into good quality card makes this one of my favorites

1.jpg

Thielen Designs – Mimicking clothing sale tags, includes a rivet and the designer’s 2 cents!

2.jpg

Harold Lee Miller – Love the retro-quality of this card, Ties in with the website branding and letter head design well

3.jpg

Intersection Magazine – Definitely a one-off, this card actually folds into a miniature Nissan Skyline car

4.jpg

CHM Systems – I’m not a huge fan of strange shapes as I think a card should fit a wallet but they definitely stand out

5.jpg

Heads Inc – Printed on perspex, gives the card more perception of value, as a commenter says “This is one card I would keep forever!”

6.jpg

Lodge Design – Embossed metal, I shudder to think of the cost but they look great. Another card that won’t get thrown away

7.jpg

Heinz Wild – Another personal favorite, absolutely brilliant

8.jpg

Four Seasons – A striking image must make this stand out like a sore thumb amongst a drawer full of plain white cards

9.jpg

Wunderburg Design – The company mark embossed in a seal, great stuff

10.jpg

Hows my designing ? – Great curvy retro design

11.jpg

Citizen – Immitating a cinema ticket, another great example of a card that stands out

12.jpg

Pomagranit – Lovely letterpressed type with a paper-overlay and lovely grainy card stock

13.jpg

Promptt – Another card imitation a tag, lovely work

14.jpg

I-D – yet more cards pretending to be something they aren’t – This time its coupons!

I hope that has proved that your business card doesn’t have to be boring – Take some inspiration from these and make your card stand out.

You know, the steel card thing was mighty popular in London for a while, particularly for post production (editing) houses since you cut stuff with those cards. Yaknow. White stuff. Ahem.

    Lovely examples.

I just want to encourage people to create their own designs. I enjoy viewing other creative work as much as anyone else, but when that becomes a source of inspiration, I begin to understand why there are so few original, creative voices out there.

I like Tony Thielen of Thielen Designs. I’ve always found him to be professional, intelligent and witty. I think it’s in poor taste to slam someone online, especially when they are obviously an amazingly talented designer. This is not the venue for personal vendetta.

I agree with you in regards to certain professions that creating a business card that is creative is important so you can stand out from the competition. However for certain professions, such as managers within the business industry, these kind of designs are usually a put-off because clients would not take these people as seriously with over the top cards.

Simple does not necessarily mean boring. You can create a hologram or used raised printing and have your card stand out while not having it be “too much” for your client. Check our company, Kendall Press, out. We design any type of business card imaginable for every type of profession imaginable.

Great cards. I like them all. If you need to print regular business cards (not metal nor die cut) I suggest going with a business card printer www.mind2print.com.

Those are some great ideas for business cards and brand recognition. The 2 cents idea is fabulous. The agencies behind these cards are definitely a cut above.

  26. Aisha - says:

With all these great ideas, I’m looking for a company that can produce hologram cards – something like the old baseball cards where you see them in one place and then you see them swing the bat…..Please help! I’ve been wanting these business cards done for a while.
