It is AWESOME! I work in a web development company and we use an ASP DOt Net software and we start at $10K for our sites. If you are willing to learn and hack out all the hours it takes to build an ecommerce site, Magento is the place to not only start, but finish. I won't say what company I work for or where we get our software from (it's also awesome stuff though), but magento is getting to Enterprise level ecommerce. In the opensource/freeware arena shopping carts and where many live by OScommerce, Mageno is miles ahead of this.
