HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography is a technique that is becoming very popular at the moment, an HDR photo is created using software such as Photoshop or Photomatix and produces images with more detail in the highlights and shadows. Here we dug out the best tutorials and resources to help you get to grips with it.

After reading through those tutorials you should have the technical skill to create a HDR photo – you still need the abilities to take great photos to start with though! We will be covering some photography tutorials in future posts.

    One note: it’s a myth that you need a camera capable of shooting in RAW mode to make HDR photographs. Photomatix software accepts .jpg and .tiff images, and I’ve made many an HDR image without RAW files. :)

    Thanks for the list. HDR is great and if used properly can produce amazing photos. However, I’ve seen photos with too much details and it’s just abusive and distraction to the eyes.
