Who said websites need more than one page? The one page website can be very effective – especially when used as a portfolio website as they let the site take a back seat and let the work shine through. Here we take a look at some examples of the best one-pagers ….

Yep definately, if done right they can be excellent.
I don’t like the horizontal ones though, seems wrong to me to scroll that way, thats why none of those made the list…

We’ve just been looking for the translation options for our web site, and couldn’t find anything, and I noticed you have this option too.
Just wanted to let you know that the tranlation (I checked the Russian one) is owful. It doesn’t even sound like Russian, and sometimes it’s even hard to understand the meaning of the sentence.
Damn … Tim Benzinger made it and I didn’t. Well one day maybe! Congrats Tim if you see this!
Will the Green Man from the Iconwerk site duel to the death with the Black Man from the Dzalifornia page?

Flash? I’m really surprised so many of these use flash. For anyone wanting their site to actually be found, you need to give the search engines something more than an embed tag to work with.
Flash is okay for some things, sure, but for an entire site design? I want my back button dammit!

Thanks for the post! Some grate sites. Regarding those which are all flash I am not sure if they should be included on the ‘one page sites’ but anyway I enjoyed them

I really like the one for Dulcimer street.
Not to take away from any of them (because they are all good), but almost all of them are effective/beautiful because of excellent graphic design.

yes, one page websites can do well on the web, but one needs a GREAT idea for that.

My page (http://www.mikkaworks.com used to be a one-pager, but had to add some extra pages. It still has that one page quality which a lot of stuff accesible from the front page.
What an excellent idea. A design achievement in itself… trying to fit everything onto one page in a stylish way. I have to go away and ponder now…
I kinda like sites with more than one page. Sort of like I like mice with more than one button. I dunno that’s just me though.
