Over the last year, and especially the last few months, Facebook fan pages have quickly risen in noteriety. The launch of the new Facebook a few months ago shot fan pages into the spotlight as it allowed fan pages to be more customizable.

Fan pages also became more like profile pages, in that status updates now appear in feeds. Over the last month, fan pages have gotten even more publicity, as Facebook announced that administrators could create vanity urls for their fan pages. If you’ve recently graduated from college, it’s hard to imagine your college life apart from Facebook.
