A lot of images I tried just didn't work. Still a great effect though! Here's my little addition: If you delete the last layer of the tutorial and then apply a 'surface blur' (filter - blur - surface blur) and set radius to around 11 and threshold to around 225, you get a really nice effect. Again, you have to have a suitable image in the first place. Darker images tend to look a bit crap. This only really works if you have a decent image to start with.
