With the current craze over Facebook among college students and now even among older people, it’s almost taboo not to have a profile on Facebook. The popular social networking site boasts around 150 to 200 million users worldwide.
If you’re like most people, you have a decently-filled out profile. You’ve probably listed a few of your favorite movies, put down your high school and posted a couple photos. Now that you’ve gotten this far, it’s time to spread your wings.

It seems like it was just yesterday when Myspace was the rave. Users could customize their own backgrounds, add music and videos and write on each others’ pages. Yet with the rapid growth of Facebook and now Twitter, it seems that Myspace has just been left in the dust. This begs the question, is Myspace still relevant? Should you even consider deleting your Myspace account?

Eye for Travel’s Social Media Strategies

I recently had the opportunity to go to Eye for Travel’s Social Media Strategies Conference in San Francisco (there’s another one coming up in June). The conference featured presentations from companies that included Disney, Priceline, Linkedin, Southwest Air, TripAdvisor, Bebo and more. Although the conference focused primarily on travel, it included social media strategies that everyone could take advantage of. The two-day event showed that there are many people who are positively using different social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter and their own online communities to reach out to consumers, while bringing in a return on their investment.

If you’ve recently graduated from college, it’s hard to imagine your college life apart from Facebook. Catching the latest gossip, becoming friends with that college superstar who has never heard of you and staying up-to-date on the latest happenings.
