I have just put the finishing touches on a new design for Tutorial Blog - that’s my excuse for the lack of posts this last week and I’m sticking to it!
This is the second design of this year - the last one was starting to get on my nerves because of the lack of main content area which was limiting me to screenshots of 450px wide.
The new design is not much of a departure from the last one - I have refined the grid, enlarged the main content area and toned down the green slightly.
Please bare with me as I still have a few bits to finish off, such as the user tutorial area and the life tutorials blog - I should finish these up by the end of the week. In the mean time I’d like to hear what you think of the new design - please leave your comments so I know people have actually noticed!
We are still on the look out for guest writers - if you’d like to contribute something, please get in touch.

I dig it. I can understand the desire to have a wider content area, I’ve changed my theme for that reason in the past as well.
It’s amazing what such minor changes can do to a theme. It looks much more professional/serious now (probably cos of the ‘green’ change.
Good work!
Cheers Mark - Glad you like it
I cant believe how bright green the old design was now.
I’m not sure what to think about it. You’ve introduced a couple of different colours while managing to clutter up the while website with different lines. On the other hand you’ve been able to Edit the logo that doesn’t look too bad… except for that blue-green colour within it isn’t found in the actual design… dunno, those are my thoughts…
I like the update, but I have just one suggestion: add a hover style for the content links. Other than that, nice work.
Yep - Ive been meaning to do that actually.
Nice work, i’m always enjoying your posts.
Thanks Sebastien - Great portfolio you have
Looks good, I like the simple design, a little more grid style to it as well! Nice job man!
Definitely a move in the right direction. Nice work, Oli.
I’m not so keen on the horizontal nav bar though. Maybe it’s the white text on black, or maybe it’s because there’s no real differentiation between sections. Maybe it’s just me being anal.
Your addition of a hover to the categories will also help out.
Keep up the good work.
